Diversity and authenticity

Viticulture in Valais occupies 5,100 hectares, characterised by an amazing diversity of soils. More than 50 grape varieties are cultivated, some of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world including: Petite Arvine, Amigne, Cornalin, Humagne,…

Most of the vineyards are situated between 400 and 800 metres altitude, however the highest vineyard in Europe is in Visperterminen at an altitude of 1,000 metres.

Respect for the environment

Vineyards are cultivated in a way that is respectful of the environment. Thanks to this type of cultivation, one can enjoy the diverse flora and fauna whilst out walking, that includes almond trees, iolas blue, woodlarks and so on.

You will also be impressed by the dry stone walls, proof of the ancient know-how and invaluable heritage.

Approximately 42 million litres are stored in the cellars every year by the wine growers, wine makers or the cooperative.

Thanks to their professionalism, the wine producers are able find that perfect harmony between the grape varieties, soils and climate to create exceptional wines.
